The beast was stirred. 10,000 stairs in October. Octowussy is on.
so this 2100 pushup challenge has been brutal.
work, life & travel has been conspiring against us all
for me, total poor planning has resulted in facing 530 pushups in the final 3 days.
i am happy to report that right now it looks like i will earn my star (only 110 left to go before midnight). I am the red line in the chart.
big stars & congrats to:
- Mr. Kinda D
- ShawnB (a beast as always with DOUBLE the goal)
on the bubble at this point:
- me (midalkewinter)
- STEPHKLOK
&
- jboutaud
let’s go!!
we are back fools!
12 short months ago @sethgoodling & I founded The Monthly Pain Cave.
in honor of the original June2000 - we are calling it back. the challenge so nice we did it twice.
welcome to the june 2,100 aka the June sPECtacular.
just like it sounds 2100 pushups by the end of June.

April Challenge:
Somewhere… at some point… I ran across a pretty cool challenge that piqued my interest.
Exercise 30 minutes a day for 100 days.
Understanding that 100 is more than 30… we decided to modify the challenge for The Monthly Pain Cave.
Also understanding that some of you have actual lives and actual things to do other than exercise… You are allowed 7 misses. You can skip 7 days if you must and still get your star.
Rules of the #Dirty30
- Do whatever you want - in terms of exercise
- A miss is a miss and cannot be made up. Doing an hour the next day does not give you back the 30 from the previous day.
- A simple check mark on the Google doc will suffice. (comments are always welcome on the type of activity)
- I am going for the full 100 days starting April 1 and will keep the document open if anyone wants to come along for the ride.

(matt here: since some of you mother-effers are the litigious type. exercise shall be defined as “exerting one’s self physically resulting in a heart rate of 60%+ of your personal maximum range, muscle engagement & general pain, swearing, and/or cursing of the gods.” Do it, humans!)

It’s best to not even discuss the ab work. Let’s move on. Is everyone ready to get your run on? It’s the final week (starting tomorrow) and here at MPC this week… that means running.
If you are pasty white…here’s your first excuse to actually have to go outside to do a challenge. Sometimes there’s a big glowing orange globe in the sky, it’s warm.. you should check it out, but don’t stare for too long.
Count your miles. Walking, running, jogging, skipping….whatever you can muster. There’s a potential prize for the top miles completed this week. Don’t hurt yourself over it though. Enjoy.

Today is the final day of the Calf raises. Tomorrow we start crunches. There is a clear leader in the pack. (This should make you angry.)
Alas…it’s not too late. This beast is graded on a curve. Get in your crunches and start building mileage for the last week. Enjoy the pain.
